The Cape-Coral Daily Breeze reports:
Pvt. 1st Class Andrew H. Holmes of Boise, Idaho, pleaded guilty to murder and wrongfully using a controlled substance on Sept. 22 in a plea agreement with prosecutors, according to Maj. Chris Ophardt at the Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington.
The following day, the judge sentenced Holmes to 15 years of confinement, but the sentence was capped at seven years as per the plea deal.
Air Force Times reports: A noncommissioned officer didn’t make the tape on her PT test — and she lost a stripe and faces hard labor because of it. The senior airman recording Staff Sgt. Monisha Barnes’ fitness results last May at Peterson Air Force Base, Colo., altered the waist measurement. Barnes signed the false score — and was convicted at a special court-martial Aug. 6 of making a false official statement.
